Built in 1872, for Civil War Colonel Thomas Stockton and his wife, Maria Smith Stockton, The Stockton House is a beautifully restored example of Italianate architecture from the Victorian era.

Maria’s Ladies Library Association has been revived as the Stockton Ladies Literary Association. For the past decade+ ladies have read about women who have held strong roles in forming our nation. Maria Stockton is our honorary president. Current members are: Jacquie Duff Richardson, Laurie Jensen-Russell, Laurie McAbee, Julie Fizell, Mary Bickley, Donna Vozar, Angela Brown



In 1851, a group of women, concerned about the lack of cultural and educational opportunities in their community, met at the home of Maria Smith Stockton. As a result of the meeting, the π‘³π’‚π’…π’Šπ’†π’”' π‘³π’Šπ’ƒπ’“π’‚π’“π’š π‘¨π’”π’”π’π’„π’Šπ’‚π’•π’Šπ’π’ was founded to serve their community.
