Now open: “John Chamberlain” at Dia Beacon.

“John Chamberlain” at Dia Beacon spans three decades of art from Dia’s collection, bringing together works from Chamberlain’s exploratory period, his signature steel sculptures, and his later innovations in color, composition, and scale. This exhibition highlights the breadth of his sculptural language across materials, forms, and spatial modes—from soft to hard, fragmented to voluminous, and pictorial to architectonic.

Chamberlain, whose work is synonymous with Dia Beacon, was previously installed in the museum’s expansive west gallery from its opening in 2003 through 2024.

Visit Dia Beacon and experience the return of Chamberlain’s iconic sculptures in a newly conceived installation, Friday through Monday, 10 am to 5 pm.

Major presentations of work by can be experienced both in Venice and New York.
 
In Venice, Italy, the display is staged across eight of SMAC Venice’s galleries at the Procuratie in Piazza San Marco, bringing together a striking selection of works from over seven decades designed to reflect both Lee’s long-standing dialogue with architectural space and his continued commitment to creating environments that prompt reflection and heightened awareness.
 
In Beacon, New York, at Dia Beacon alongside the three sculptures emblematic of his Mono-ha period, the exhibition presents eight paintings dating from the 1970s through the early ’90s, which recently entered Dia’s collection and where the artist foregrounded the canvas as a space populated by both presence and absence.
