PS2 is pleased to announce a collaboration with SIRIUS Arts Centre in Cobh towards an exhibition with artist Eunice Pais, supported by the Gulbenkian Exhibitions Fund in its inaugural edition.

The Gulbenkian Exhibitions Fund assists with the presentation of art from Portugal and Portuguese-speaking African countries in the United Kingdom. Pais is a Portuguese Mozambican practitioner based in Porto, Portugal. PS2 and SIRIUS are jointly organising a commission, displays in each gallery, and a residency and an event series across both venues.

Eunice’s practice spans moving image, photography, sound, and sculpture, and explores the intersections of ecology, labour, belonging, and counter-coloniality. Through research-based and speculative approaches, she addresses the relationships among human and more-than-human worlds through the lenses of extractivism and inherited ways of producing knowledge.

Eunice’s exhibition approaches the North Atlantic as a living and opaque archive: a space of becoming where nature, memory, and dissidence remain in continuous flux. It centres on a new film, Sargassum, alongside existing works, all of which examine kelp as a connective body between the coastal areas of Apúlia, in northern Portugal, Belfast, and Cobh.

PS2 and SIRIUS have been collaborating on strategic development and programming, and this project strengthens their mutual commitment to a civic-oriented approach to art.

The project is one of seven funded by this year’s Gulbenkian Exhibitions Fund. Other organisations include Chapter, Cardiff; Jali Collective, Edinburgh; Orleans House Gallery, Twickenham; Trinity Community Arts, Bristol; Food Museum, Stowmarket; and Nottingham Contemporary.

🔈Announcing PS²’s Graduate-in-residence 2026/27

We’re so delighted to announce the recipient of our 2026/27 Graduate-in-residence award... Áine Crawford! .wellyboots

They will receive a free studio for a period of one year, culminating in a solo exhibition 💪

You can see Áine’s work Graduate Showcase, which kicks off TONIGHT - Friday 5 June from 6pm - 9pm. The Graduate Showcase will remain open for viewing from 10am - 5pm until Saturday 20 June.

It’s such a strong show this year across all departments. It was such a privilege to get a preview and we want to wish massive congratulations to you all. Have a blast, bring a fan, cancel any plans you had for tomorrow 🥰

Áine is a q***r and neurodivergent multi-disciplinary artist, currently specialising in drawing, sculpture, and performance. Their practice explores moments in the everyday and mundane where the abject body is at a threshold, caught in jeopardy physically, mentally, or through sensory inputs.

A foundation of their practice is an interest in storytelling and worldbuilding, which they develop through drawings of “ladies” existing within a void, liminal world that parallels our own. In the face of rapidly increasing femicide and domestic violence statistics in a post-conflict North of Ireland, Áine’s ‘ladies’ act as narrators for their installation to explore how misogyny and surveillance directly impact female presenting bodies within the domestic sphere.

ANIMA, meet ANIMUS.

ANIMUS is the second part of two solo exhibtions by Anna Vidamour that are running concurrently in Belfast. Part one: ANIMA (The Unredacted Daughter), can be viewed until 23 June 2026.

Both exhibitions explore dual subconscious. ANIMA: our feminine, creative, emotional parts. ANIMUS is the darkness; our masculine parts when left unchecked, and what happens when stagnancy and rage are suppressed instead of expressed and released.

Carl Jung proposed the concept that we all have these parts, irrespective of gender. This exhibition highlights what happens when we don’t believe women when they tell us their stories; when we ignore domestic and gendered violence; when we internalise our lived experiences in fear or shame. Tension, knots, destruction breed in silence. It’s time to speak up and to reclaim our lives.

ANIMUS has reached its limits: trying to keep the peace and emotionally tend to those around me. She’s fed up. She’s searching. She’s ready to say what those around her won’t. She’s ready to own her past, in order to step into her future.

She’s ready to burn the system - and those accountable - down.

Today is the last full day to view Silvia Koistinen’s exhibition the smallness of things I a pequenez das coisas in the PS² Project Space!

Whilst we are open tomorrow, we’ve had an overwhelming and brilliant response to Making Feminist Archives: a participant-led workshop on the Patricia Hurl Archive with and are now using the Project Space to accommodate all of you!

Tomorrow, Silvia’s exhibition will run from 12pm - 2pm, when the gallery will close to enable the workshop to take place.

📚 Making Feminist Archives 📚
Participatory-led workshop on Patricia Hurl Archive

Saturday 30 May, 2pm - 4pm

Led by Johanne Mullan, curator of Collections, and Dr Alessia Cargnelli, post-doctoral researcher

We are looking for artists, researchers, art~culture~community workers, archivists, activists, and anybody interested in the intersection of feminist artistic practices and community-led archives, to take part in this workshop.

You don’t need to be an expert: we are looking for people with a strong interest in the subject.

Focusing on selected materials from the Patricia Hurl Archive, held in IMMA Collections, we will be collectively developing propositions around how feminist-informed artistic practices on the island of Ireland could be best archived, and made widely accessible to the public.

Places are limited, so be sure you are available to attend in person. Your place will be confirmed no later than 24th May.

This week we are so excited to welcome guests from in Lochmaddy, North Uist.

We’re joined by curator for Romhainn: the Scottish Gàidhlig term for ‘before us, ahead of us’ in a collective sense, and a Gaelic artist working with Taigh Chearsabhagh on an upcoming exhibition.

The Romhainn project is a short, intensive period of playful experimentation and research, rooted in decolonised language and placemaking.

The first part of the project involves a research exchange trip to PS2 in Belfast connecting with our Irish for Artists programme and , followed by a working period at Taigh Chearsabhagh in September.

The selected artist for the Romhainn residency, , is an award-winning multilingual poet, musician and songwriter. Robbie will work with multilingual practice, to expand our thinking, make cross-cultural connections, and share learnings with others.
