Throwing it back 5 YEARS to when our shaking table was recovered and given a freshen-up by Holman Wilfley Ltd, alongside our fantastic staff and volunteers. 🙌

For many visitors, the shaking table demonstration is the centrepiece of our Mill tours and you can see it in action!

Our Mill tours are now running on the hour from 10am – 4pm. 🕙

Come along and join your guide, explore the Mill and see this fascinating piece of mining history for yourself! ⚙️🪨

📣THIS SATURDAY📣

We are delighted to be hosting a multimedia interactive installation feat. voices of West Penwith by sound artist Natalia Mamcarczyk (Immersive Arts). Kow - in Cornish 'cavity' or 'hollow' is a multimedia spatial installation exploring the social, cultural, and natural wealth of the most southwestern distant land of the UK.

Featuring voices across generations, cultures, native backgrounds, religions, and industries, it traces the transition of the place through the closure of the mines, and the impact on lives so closely connected to their land: miners, fishermen, musicians & dancers, community & arts workers, spiritual practitioners, pub crews, as well as geologists and Cornish heritage specialists.

We had a bit of a flap onsite today! 🦜

Our latest visitor, Chicken the Parrot, clearly heard that Geevor Tin Mine is pet-friendly and decided to inspect the site for himself! 👀

Whether he was impressed by the mining heritage, we’ll never know… but he certainly wasn’t short of things to say! 😆

Today we’re throwing it back to a special visit to Geevor from the wonderful Harry Glasson, creator of the much loved song Cornwall My Home. 💙

Last year, Harry came to visit us here at Geevor, and we’re delighted to share this lovely memory on his birthday! 🎂

A very happy birthday to Harry and thank you for giving Cornwall a song that means so much to so many. 🖤🤍

⚽️AN EVENING WITH STEVE MASSEY, COMING TO GEEVOR IN 2027! ⚽️

We’re delighted to announce that former professional footballer Steve Massey will be joining us at Geevor in 2027 for a special evening talk, followed by an audience Q&A session.

Steve enjoyed a long and fascinating professional football career, making over 380 Football League appearances and scoring more than 100 league goals. Playing for clubs including Stockport County, AFC Bournemouth, Peterborough United, Northampton Town, Hull City, Cambridge United and Wrexham.

Steve’s time at Wrexham saw him play in the European Cup Winners’ Cup, where he scored against Żurrieq and Real Zaragoza.

He holds a special place in Wrexham’s European history as the club’s highest goalscorer in European competitions, an impressive achievement from a memorable playing career.

Steve later became a well-known figure in Cornish football, including his time as both a player and manager, spanning 36+ years and still today managing Helston Athletic.

Steve is also the co-author alongside Rodney Marshall of three books sharing stories, memories and experiences from his life in football:

Copies of all three books will be available to purchase on the evening, with the opportunity to have your copy personally signed by Steve.
