Charlotte-Genesee Lighthouse Come tour the oldest surviving lighthouse on Lake Ontario!

Charlotte-Genesee Lighthouse visitors can climb to the top of the forty-foot high lighthouse, completed in 1822 on a bluff overlooking the Genesee River’s flow into Lake Ontario, and hear the story of our urban pioneers who depended upon the lighthouse and its keepers to safely guide their boats into and out of the developing wilderness. We’re excited to announce that this year’s Harborfest will feature a visit from the 1893 tall ship LETTIE G. HOWARD! The Lettie G. will offer dockside tours and public sails while at the Port of Rochester.

Tomorrow is Opening Day for the season! Normal tour hours are from 1PM to 5PM on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. Last tour starts at 4:15 p.m. The open season runs Friday May 1, 2026 until November 1, 2026. Special tours can be arranged during off hours by calling the number on our FB contact listing.
